The Antico Borgo Poggiarello farmhouse is perfect for family holidays:

What does a family holiday mean to you? We think that a slow pace, contact with  nature and relaxing are a must, all of which we try our best to give to you when you choose to holiday with us.

As the crow flies our farmhouse is close to Monteriggioni, but large trees and the sounds of the Tuscan countryside are what surround us.
Poggiarello is a farmhouse built from an ancient village of the XVII century. After the renovation we created 14 apartments, that retain the look and feel of a small village: each apartment has its own privacy, however there are areas in which to spend time together. There are three common areas most loved by our youngest guests: swimming pool, restaurant and play area.

 

Prefer not to cook on holiday? Choose a farmhouse with a restaurant in Tuscany

The restaurant is where we serve breakfast in the morning. Although each apartment has its own kitchen, while on holiday it is nice to have breakfast made for you.

The dishes on our menu are mainly traditional Tuscan classics: either vegetarian (eg panzanella, pappa al pomodoro, ribollita etc) or for meat lovers, the famous Bistecca alla Fiorentina. We can also prepare for the dietary requirements of our coeliac guests, we just need to know in advance.

Many Tuscan recipes are really simple, made with just a few excellent quality ingredients, which vary with the seasons and for which we try to use our local producers as much as possible. Our dishes have simple and genuine flavours that are appreciated by all including young children trying new tastes.

Playing with food is also a way for children to learn. We organise cooking classes by reservation: if you like the idea of having a cooking experience together with your child, please contact us and we will organize something for you.

It's hot! Choose a farmhouse with a swimming pool in Tuscany

Our pool is very large: perfect for cooling off by taking a nice swim! There are steps that slowly descend into the water, a way to acclimatize yourself with the water little by little. If you wish to shelter from the heat of the sun, sunbeds can be placed under the trees that surround the pool and in the olive grove.

For parents, we also have a small indoor pool that can be booked throughout the season (September to June) to take some time for yourself. We call it Bagno Romano and it is a cozy and welcoming place, with dressing room and heated water.

Looking for things to do with your children on holiday? Choose a farmhouse with a children’s play area and attractions close by.

Our farmhouse is immersed in nature and there are large spaces to play as well as an equipped play area. There are slides, swings and other playground equipment  where children can climb, run, jump and have fun on their own.

We chose materials such as wood and steel so that they are safe with minimal impact on the environment while meeting the highest EU regulations: having a play area that is sustainable is important to us. In this way the play area is an area of fun for children, relaxation for parents, and for us yet another opportunity to show our respect for the place that hosts us.
