Dear Roberto, Paolo and offcourse, the father,

I would like to thank you for the wonderfull time we spent with you. We will defently come back. I still have to help cooking. Our friends wanted to thank you as well for your hospitality. The appartement down at the hill was super.

We wanted to join you the last evening for a short while to have a coffee and a grappa and to say goodbye. But then I notice that every guest had allready left the restaurant and that you were sitting together in family. I leave it that way.

We are spending the last days in Italy in the rain!!!! We are in Madonna di Campiglio for some mountain hiking what we did this morning. Soaked wet we came downstairs. We even needed a hot bad to become warm again. It is 18 degrees overhere! What a different with the trip we made at your place. I was also very wet but not from the rain.

Thank you once more for everything.

'Nona' Tineke

Hello everyone at IL Poggiarello. All is well here in the states. Jimmy (Bob Dillon) received your phone message. We reminded ourselves of the great time we had last year at IL Poggiarello. How is the weather in Tuscany? Say hello to Paulo, Roberto, Grazie and especially Nino. We hope Bruce & Joanne had a great time.
Tara and I will be in Italy from August 28th through September 9th. We will be in Positano and Serrento. If things do not work out, we will stop up to see you guys.
Ciao Brian

Dear Nino, Gratzia, Roberto and Paulo:
We all wanted to thank you very much for the beautiful time we spent in Poggiarello last week. We sure had a memorable time which we will cherish for many years to come. We all enjoyed the facilities very much and the kids voted the Food at Poggiarello to be the best on our trip which it says much as our kids are tough to please.
Best Regards,
Ben, Carmit , Guy, Tal and Karen Harel
Nino and family,
Thank you for making our visit to Poggiarello such a pleasure. You made us feel like one of the family.

Hi Nino,
We had a fabulous vacation with all the special diners we had together with your family and friends. Our family and friends are jalousie.

Dear All at Poggiarello
I hope you are well and that the weather is still nice because it's getting colder here in England. Given I am now a married woman (and no longer la sposa but la moglie!) I have a new email address. We are still waiting for the 'official' photos but friends have sent us their photos and I have put some together that spans our stay at Poggiarello.
We are still reminiscing over every detail of our stay at Poggiarello. We enjoyed every single day and we still can't stop talking about how pleased we were to be able to share our wedding day with you. We are missing your friendship and food (and of course the grappa and limoncello!) I bought some figs yesterday and it reminded me of those wonderful fig trees you have. They are one euro each in the supermarket and you have trees laden with them!
We are already planning when we can come back next year and I think you will be seeing a lot of our guests again also.
with very best wishes to everyone

Sue (and of course mio marito, Laurie)

Couldn't be better”
My twin sister and I decided to go to Italy to celebrate our 50th birthdays together. We did all the research for hotels online before we left home, reviewed an overwhelming amount of information, and after crossing our fingers, decided to book a stay at the Antico Borgo Poggiarello for 4 nights, from May 21 to 25.
We chose this property because of the magnificent views and the close proximity to the towns that we most wanted to see, such as San Gimignano, Siena, Montepulciano, and Cortona.
We arrived just after noon after spending the better part of the morning travelling by train from Rome. We arrived in Florence, picked up our rental car and then drove approximately 30 minutes through beautiful scenery and small towns to the hotel.
We were pretty tired when we arrived.
What a reception!! We were met by the owners' mother in law, her niece, and the resident dog, who all greeted us with in a very warm and welcoming manner. We were immediately invited in for lunch, which we gratefully accepted.
Inside the ancient, thick walled stone building was a cool and cosy small restaurant. The tables were set with tablecloths and small vases of fresh flowers. After refreshing ourselves with a glass of good house red wine, we were presented with a bowl of homemade fresh pasta with a simple tomato and garlic sauce.
It was absolutely delicious.
Following that we were served a platter of fresh local cheeses and salamis which were once again, amazingly delicious.
Fresh strawberries and homemade ice cream were served at the end of the meal.
During lunch, the owner and all of his extended family, including several generations ate together at the table beside us. We felt priveledged to witness and to be included in this large family. By the time lunch was finished we were stuffed, but very satisfied, and ready to face the task of unpacking and orienting ourselves to the property and area.
Nino, the owners father, took us on a tour of the grounds, pointing out the lovely pool, roman bath, picnic areas, and our apartment. Our apartment was beautiful. The living area was large with a fully equipped kitchen and eating area. There was a living area with sofa and television.
Our bedrooms were beautiful. We each had a large room with tiled floors, a large wardrobe and a kingsize bed. The mattresses were firm but comfortable. All of the buildings of the property were part of an ancient village originating in the 15th and 16th centuries.
The views were breathtaking. When you looked out of your bedroom window, it looked as if large mats of green velvet were stiched together and laid onto rolling was so beautiful it almost looked surreal. At night, in the distance you could see hilltop villages with shimmering lights, and in the day, you could see roving groups of sheep which looked like miniature white ants moving across the hills.
The hotel is clean, very well run, has friendly staff who are more than eager to make your stay perfect in every way, and you just can't get a better location in Tuscany.

?We had a wonderful stay. Comfortable rooms, delicious food cooked by Roberto-cakes and desserts made by his lovely wife well located for site seeing and walking which we did lots of. All the family were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome- we all ate together 4 course meals- simple, wonderful home cooked seasonal Tuscan food. We were there in the Autumn- the rooms were warm and comfortable.

Had a wonderful stay- 3 nights in late Autumn, walking and driving around the many local hill towns and villages.
The hotel is beautifully located on the brow of a hill, really remote and far away from any passing traffic or noise. The old farm stead is restored as charming suites. We had a double room with a good bathroom and an equipped kitchen/dining room. The views from our room and terrace were spectacular. We were there in late October so could not enjoy the beautiful terraces of which there were many.
The owners were charming, helpful and very thoughtful, providing us with maps and suggestions of places to go.
The food was a set dinner of 4 courses- all home made with local fresh ingredients. The family all contributed to the making of the food and happily shared their culinary secrets with their guests. They ate with us too, which is always encouraging.
The dining room was charming- a converted barn with many original features kept to entertain their guest with- a long trough filled with hay.
Wine was all good and well served with helpful guidance and recommendations.
Well done to our host family for caring so much about their business.
The other guests were good company too, all happy to exchange stories of the days adventures. In all a very pleasant stay.
